Kansas Still Filling Out the Form From Wembley

Lance Leipold's club is 1-2 and one international trip behind on receipts.

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Someone in the Kansas football office is still itemizing a week that included a conference game at Wembley Stadium. The game itself is in the book. The per diem is not.

Lance Leipold, asked Friday whether the London trip had cleared his desk, said the team was preparing for the next opponent. That is a coach's answer. It is also an accounting answer.

A staffer who asked not to be named because the forms are orange said three receipts were photographed in the wrong currency and one hotel folio still listed a player as "guest, American football." The athletic department declined to say whether that was funny.

The Jayhawks are 1-2. Arizona State is the team that played them in England. Both have more football to play. Only one office, as far as Adjacent can tell, is still hunting a VAT number.
